BECOME A STREAM KEEPER Grand Rapids, MI
Join other Kennedy for President Supporters
with WMEAC West Michigan Environmental Action Council.
Become a Stream Keeper to protect our streams, creeks and rivers.
Aquatic macroinvertebrates play a very important role in our freshwater ecosystems and include organisms such as insects, clams, snails, worms, and crayfish!
As a Stream Keeper, you will learn how to collect these important organisms to measure water pollution levels.
WMEAC will provide you with waders, nets, procedures, and other tools necessary for our field work events.
These events are all FREE, open to all ages and levels of experience, and stream equipment will be provided.
Both Outdoor Training Workshops will review the same procedures but Stream Keepers are more than encouraged to attend both if desired.
Attendance to a Training Workshop is preferred but not required to attend the Data Collection Days.
RSVP is required. Please specify the number of people attending so WMEAC can bring enough supplies to the creeks.
Stream Keepers can attend as many data collection outings as they would like!
Please let WMEAC know which Events you plan on attending so we can bring enough supplies.
