Internship Director

Job Description:


Kennedy 24 Presidential Campaign is looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful Internship Director to lead our college outreach efforts and recruit interns from campuses nationwide. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in student engagement, relationship-building, and recruitment strategies.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive college outreach strategy to engage students and professors at universities and colleges nationwide.
  • Cultivate relationships with student organizations, academic departments, and campus leadership to promote internship opportunities with Kennedy 24.
  • Conduct cold calls and emails to professors and deans of departments to introduce Kennedy 24 internship opportunities and establish partnerships.
  • Coordinate and attend campus events, career fairs, and networking sessions to raise awareness of the campaign and recruit interns.
  • Deliver presentations and lead discussions at established student organizations and classes to recruit interns and promote campaign initiatives.
  • Meet with students individually or in groups, both virtually and in-person, to onboard them into the campaign's CRM system and discuss internship opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a database of college contacts, tracking engagement activities and outcomes to inform future outreach efforts.
  • Work closely with the internship program team to facilitate the recruitment, onboarding, and placement of interns within the campaign.
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to interns, serving as a point of contact for questions, feedback, and guidance.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of college outreach initiatives, gathering feedback and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Stay updated on current political issues, campaign priorities, and youth engagement trends to inform outreach efforts and messaging.
  • Travel up to 80 percent of the time to visit college campuses, attend events, and meet with students and faculty.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in student outreach, campus recruitment, or related fields strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
