Kennedy Gains Ballot Access in Battleground State of Michigan

LANSING, MI—APRIL 18, 2024—Independent Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. today announced the campaign has gained ballot access in Michigan. Kennedy was nominated for president and Nicole Shanahan was nominated for vice president by the Natural Law Party in Michigan.

The party has filed all necessary documents with the state, putting the Kennedy-Shanahan ticket on the ballot in Michigan this fall.

“He’s the most qualified candidate in the modern-day history of America,” said Natural Law Party Chairman Doug Dern. “We welcome Mr. Kennedy and Ms. Shanahan to the party.”

Michigan is proving to be one of the closest swing states of the 2024 presidential election. A Times/Siena poll of six key battlegrounds placed Kennedy at 26% in Michigan, within single digits of the lead. Michigan is where the DNC put up its first attack ads against Kennedy in February, with a series of defamatory billboards.

“Kennedy is good for Michigan,” said Western Michigan Regional Coordinator Bill Costantino. “As an environmental champion for more than 40 years, Kennedy will work to restore our Great Lakes region, which holds 20% of the world's freshwater. He will ensure a thriving fishing economy and ecosystem for commercial fishermen and individual anglers.”

Kennedy will celebrate his ballot access win on Sunday, April 21 when he is hosting “A Night of Laughter” comedy show at the Royal Oak Theatre near Detroit, Michigan.

Kennedy is already on the ballot in Utah and has collected all the necessary signatures to be on the ballot in New Hampshire, Nevada, Hawaii, North Carolina, Idaho, Nebraska, and Iowa.

The Kennedy campaign has launched a robust ballot access plan to ensure the Kennedy-Shanahan ticket is on the ballot in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

“We have the field teams, volunteers, legal teams, paid circulators, supporters, and strategists ready to get the job done,” said Stefanie Spear, campaign press secretary. “We are exceeding all our benchmarks and will announce new states each week.”

Last month, Kennedy welcomed attorney and tech entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan to the campaign as his vice presidential running mate at a packed rally in Oakland, California. Millions watched on TV and social media as Kennedy and Shanahan pledged to restore the middle class, end the chronic disease epidemic, unwind the war machine, and unravel the corporate capture of our government agencies.

Kennedy’s surging support across the country has made the election a three-way race. A recent Quinnipiac poll shows him leading Presidents Biden and Trump nationwide among voters under 35. An NBC poll shows 34% of people saying they could see themselves supporting RFK Jr. Another Quinnipiac Poll discussed on CNN shows Kennedy in a three-way tie with Presidents Biden and Trump among Latinos.

Kennedy leads Presidents Biden and Trump among independents. Independents continue to constitute the largest political bloc in the U.S., with an average of 43% of U.S. adults. In contrast, 27% of U.S. adults identify as Republicans and 27% of U.S. adults identify as Democrats.
