Kennedy Campaign Uses Fortune Cookies to Reach New Hampshire Voters

WMUR 9 ABC News reports:

One hundred thousand fortune cookies have made their way into Chinese restaurants across New Hampshire, all with a message, not of good luck, or advice, but with advertisements for the Robert F. Kennedy Jr. 2024 campaign for president.

The cookies began popping up earlier the month, Granite State restaurants confirmed, in a targeted campaign to New Hampshire.

Kennedy's campaign confirmed they were behind the cookies, looking to reach voters through a non-conventional medium, just as his father had during his presidential campaign in 1968.

“Robert F. Kennedy Sr. pioneered the innovative use of fortune cookie advertising during his presidential campaign. Following his legacy, RFK Jr.’s campaign has embraced this unconventional approach to connect with voters nationwide, leveraging the universal appeal of fortune cookies,” the Kennedy campaign wrote.

Dominick Prive said that he was surprised to open the fortune several weeks ago, and found that the advertisement, made him look into Kennedy, in a way that he may not have before.

"When I posted to Facebook that I had that in the fortune cookie, I had family members come out of the woodwork who told me that they were interested in RFK, and then I felt like I had to look him up just to have a conversation with them about it," Prive said. "So it did. It worked. I think tactically, it was successful."
