Kennedy Files for Ballot Access in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, LA—JULY 24, 2024—The Kennedy campaign today announced it has submitted the required fee and forms to gain ballot access in Louisiana. The campaign paid the required $500 fee and submitted its elector Notices of Candidacy and Affidavits of Acceptance of Nomination.

“We are thrilled Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Nicole Shanahan will be on the ballot in Louisiana this November,” said Southwest Regional Director Carlos Sierra. “Louisianans will have the opportunity to vote for a ticket that represents independence, unity, integrity, and honesty.”

Louisiana is one of two states that allows independent presidential candidates to pay a fee for ballot access in place of collecting signatures. The other state is Oklahoma, which has certified Kennedy’s ballot access. 

The campaign’s aggressive ballot access operation has surpassed all its milestones to ensure the Kennedy-Shanahan ticket is on the ballot in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The ballot access operation is fully funded with more than $15 million raised.

The Kennedy-Shanahan campaign has collected the signatures needed for ballot access in 29 states, totaling 392 electoral votes, 73% of the 538 total electoral votes nationwide.

The Kennedy-Shanahan ticket is officially on the ballot in 10 statesCalifornia, Delaware, Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Utah.

The campaign has submitted its signatures in 15 statesAlaska, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and now Louisiana.  

It has collected enough signatures for ballot access in 4 states Florida, Idaho, Iowa, and New Hampshire

On May 1, the Kennedy campaign released results from a Zogby poll showing Kennedy beats both Presidents Biden and Trump in head-to-head matchups. Trump defeats Biden handily. Kennedy beats President Trump in a two-way race, by a tight margin. In a two-way race between Kennedy and President Biden, Kennedy wins in a landslide. Kennedy is the first independent ever to defeat both major party candidates in head-to-head matchups.
