Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Issues Dire Warning on Government Censorship.

Fox News reports: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., slammed government censorship during an exclusive interview with Fox News' Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, calling free speech the "cornerstone of democracy" and warning that government crackdowns on free expression could have disastrous implications. "When people censor speech, when we look back in history, they're never the good guys," he said. "Government abuses every power that it's given, and if government suddenly has the capacity to censor its critics, it has a license for any atrocity." The remarks come after the 2024 presidential hopeful faced off with House Democrats at a hearing on federal government censorship last Thursday. Democrats, including Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, accused Kennedy of holding racist views for comments stating that COVID-19 may have been "ethnically targeted" as he alleged those most immune to the virus were Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese people. "This should not be a partisan issue. This needs to be bipartisan," he said of free speech. "The Democratic Party has always fought very hard – my father, my uncle – throughout its history, the word liberal means freedom and applies specifically to freedom of speech.  "We can't have a democracy if we don't have freedom of speech. It is the cornerstone of our democracy. That's why the framers put it in the First Amendment. It is, as I said, it's the sunlight, it's the water, it's the soil, and democracy. Without free speech, democracy will wither and die." Read the full article here. If you resonate with this message please subscribe to our newsletter to learn more.

The Democrats Need Kennedy

The American Conservative reports: With each passing it day, it looks more likely that former President Donald Trump will emerge as the GOP nominee to face President Joe Biden next year. A rematch of the 2020 election is noticeably uninspiring to the vast majority of Americans. A recent Wall Street Journalarticle’s title sums it up simply: “No One Is Looking Forward to the 2024 Presidential Election.” At the same time, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is gaining traction in the polls, much to the consternation of the media. In fact, a recent survey by the Economist and YouGov showed Kennedy with the highest favorability of any of the presidential candidates already announced. Kennedy’s appeal among a growing number of Democrat voters should be understood as a rejection of Biden’s repeat bid for the White House. With Biden’s frequent blunders and lack of awareness of where he is or what he is saying (“God save the Queen, man!”), the Democrats are forced to confront reality: He very probably could lose this race, regardless of the GOP nominee. When a candidate is wandering around a stage, unable to string two coherent sentences together, it would not require a Republican superhero to take him out next November. RFK solves many of the Democrats’ problems. He is younger and more physically fit than Biden. He is engaging and charming to everyday Americans. Kennedy also has a disarming way of violating all of the progressive rules and saying the forbidden words. In short, what he says just makes sense. Read the full article here. RFK, Jr. Announces Bold Plan to Back Dollar With Bitcoin, End Bitcoin Taxes

The Street reports: “My plan would be to start very, very small, perhaps 1% of issued T-bills would be backed by hard currency, by gold, silver platinum or bitcoin,” Kennedy said, describing his vision for returning to a hard currency standard in the U.S. He added that, depending on the outcome of that initial step, he would increase that allocation annually. This potential policy reimagines the financial system, pointing to a future where bitcoin's absolute scarcity and sound monetary principles reinforce the U.S. dollar’s eroding position as the world reserve currency. "Backing dollars and U.S. debt obligations with hard assets could help restore strength back to the dollar, rein in inflation and usher in a new era of American financial stability, peace and prosperity," he declared. In addition, Kennedy announced his administration “will exempt the conversion of bitcoin to the U.S. dollar from capital gains taxes.” Read the full article here. RFK, Jr. Is a "Serious Primary Challenger"

The Messenger reports: “If wishes could be made reality, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s campaign would be consigned to the ‘slag heap’ of politics.” Unfortunately for them, wishes are not reality: Kennedy continues to gain steam in his quest to challenge the sitting Democratic president in 2024. Since announcing his run for president on April 19, by my count, Kennedy has gained approximately 1 million followers on Twitter. He is catching fire with voters for two reasons.  The first is his general message, encapsulated on his Twitter handle: “As President, I will end the forever wars, clean up government, restore the middle class, and tell Americans the truth.” That’s starting to resonate with some voters. How much? A Quinnipiac University poll in June found that 40% of Republicans viewed Kennedy favorably, as did 31% of independents and 25% of Democrats. Those are numbers the Kennedy camp believes will only climb with time. The second reason Kennedy’s message is catching on with voters and donors is that a growing number of Americans across the board believe that President Biden’s age, apparent frailty, and perceived cognitive issues should make him rethink his quest to serve a second term. Though Biden has announced he’ll run, I believe his age and health will force him to withdraw from the race at some point. The DNC soon may be forced to announce that it is actively seeking other candidates to run for the party’s nomination in 2024. If that happens, Kennedy would have a tremendous head start on other candidates who might join the field. Read the full article here. Media Twists RFK's Remark at NY Press Event

Courageous Discourse reports: The media is afire with screaming headlines and chatter about RFK, Jr. (allegedly) floating an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory about COVID-19 at a recent press event in New York. The presidential candidate’s allegedly outrageous remarks were captured in a video (apparently shot clandestinely) of him sitting at a dining table, talking to his companions about the frequently observed and documented fact that some ethnic groups appear to be more susceptible to severe COVID-19 illness than others. So, what exactly did RFK, Jr. say? Read the full opinion piece here. If you resonate with this message please subscribe to our newsletter to learn more.

Biased Media Coverage of RFK, Jr. Endangers Fair Elections

The Orlando Sentinel reports: The single greatest risk to our electoral process is neither manipulation of the polls nor attacks undermining results; it is a press corps that covers candidates with a predetermined bias. The treatment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., exemplifies this trend. Kennedy has been inappropriately ridiculed, with his views ignored. This effort continues, even though some polls indicate 20% of Democrats across the United States are prepared to vote for him in the presidential primaries. Relentless personal assaults dominate articles and editorials while he is denied the ability to respond. By stooping to the vulgar tactics of the tabloids, the press has deviated from its central role in supporting the democratic process and protecting freedom of expression. The Deep Spring: A Few Words in Favor of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

The Front Porch reports: There is a great magnetism to presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. I, my wife, and many of my closest friends—despite the hallucination publicitaire spawned by our mainstream media in an attempt to reduce the man to a cartoon—find ourselves moved by Mr. Kennedy in a way no other political figure has moved us before. I’ve been puzzling over why this is the case and feel I’ve found a clue in a recent interview Mr. Kennedy did with Charles Eisenstein. Before I delve into the interview I think it would be helpful to share a bit about my wife and friends. My wife is a mother and elementary school teacher, and my friends are motley. One is a carpenter; one a real estate broker; one runs a local art center; one is a farmer; one is a beekeeper; one runs a landscaping business; one is a web designer; and one is a screenwriter. Some didn’t go to college; some went to Ivy League schools. Most are generally suspicious of what they read in “the papers” (though not a one, I’m sure of it, would call herself/himself “civilized”). Most are parents with young kids. And regarding Mr. Kennedy, all appear startled, almost sheepishly so, by their enthusiasm for the man. As my wife said to me one night recently, with a kind of groggy wonder: “I didn’t know how thirsty I was until I was shown a glass of water.” About halfway into the above-mentioned interview, Mr. Eisenstein asks Mr. Kennedy: “How do you stay positive and upbeat and energetic? What’s your source of solidity?” In light of Kennedy’s past—the loss of his father to murder, his uncle to murder, an ex-wife (and mother of four of his children) to suicide, his bygone struggle with addiction, and the current media-shelling—I’ve wondered the same thing. (And that’s not mentioning the stress of raising seven children and his high-stakes work as a lawyer on behalf of the Hudson River and other waterways; on behalf of Indigenous peoples; and on behalf of folks fighting against Goliaths like Monsanto and DuPont over their pollution. And that’s not mentioning the books he’s written and statements he’s made sharply questioning and criticizing our government and medical establishment.) And this was Mr. Kennedy’s response to Mr. Eisenstein, delivered in his shaky catching voice with his grave, pointblank, glancingly wry demeanor: Read the full opinion piece here. The Media’s Hypocrisy on Vaccines

Tablet reports: Since Robert F. Kennedy Jr. tossed his hat into the 2024 presidential ring, his detractors have repeatedly pointed to one issue as evidence that he’s unfit to be president: his skepticism of the COVID-19 vaccines. The reality, however, is that the same media institutions depicting Kennedy as a wingnut spreading fringe conspiracy theories played a key role in popularizing vaccine resistance. The sheer volume of sudden reversals in public health policy makes it difficult to recall what anyone was claiming a few years ago, but there is a simple formula to understand why “the science” keeps changing: It’s often about who benefits politically. In the months before the 2020 election, the Trump administration seemed close to hitting its stated goal of delivering a COVID vaccine by the end of the year. That would have been a clear boost to the president’s electoral chances. Read the full article here. If you resonate with this message please subscribe to our newsletter to learn more.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Celebrates Free Speech Ruling

Breitbart reports: Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. celebrated a federal judge’s decision to block the Biden administration from interacting with social media companies that have censored him and others. As Breitbart News reported, U.S. Judge Terry A. Doughty — a Donald Trump appointee — issued a temporary injunction on July 4th in a suit by Missouri and Louisiana to challenge the administration’s alleged censorship. Read the full article here. Pundits Say Kennedy Will Likely Win New Hampshire Primary

The Boston Herald reports: Despite the odds stacked against Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s run at the White House, his campaign isn’t so novel or fringe that President Biden should swiftly dismiss the scion of the powerful political family and likely victor of the first Democratic primary contest, experts tell the Herald. RFK Jr., as he is popularly called, the son of the former attorney general and New York Sen. Robert Kennedy, announced he would follow in his father’s footsteps and seek the presidency in April, effectively answering the question of whether Biden would sail into the general election absent the weight of responding to his record throughout a primary contest. “If you are Joe Biden, this is the last thing you wanted,” Ken Cosgrove, a professor of political science and legal studies at Suffolk University, told the Herald. Driving the Media Crazy

The American Mind reports: In a recent piece for the Los Angeles Times, Robin Abcarian, a hyper-progressive political commentator, took great pains and pleasure in dragging Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s name through the digital mud. In addition to disputing the “science” behind the Covid vaccine, says Abcarian, Kennedy has crossed many other “unassailable” lines of dogma, including his doubt in the high moral standing of the CIA. According to Abcarian, the nephew of JFK and son of slain 1968 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy “is off his rocker.” But is he, really? On April 19, Kennedy officially launched his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. The lawyer and environmental activist is growing in popularity, with as many as 20 percent of registered Democrats and left-leaning independents voicing their support for him.
