Des Moines Register reports: Under my administration, no one will ever be forced to sell their land to a big corporation just so it can make more taxpayer-subsidized profits. At last year’s Iowa State Fair, I spoke out against the dangerous and unnecessary “carbon capture” pipelines that are threatening the property rights and the safety of Iowa farmers. On June 25, the Iowa Utilities Board approved a request by one of the companies involved, Summit Carbon Solutions, to build its controversial pipeline across the state, bringing this corporate boondoggle one step closer to reality. Worse, the Utilities Board declared that Summit can use eminent domain to acquire land by force of law from landowners unwilling to sell. Under our Constitution, eminent domain is supposed to be used for “public necessity,” not private profit. Here, the Utilities Board has given a private company permission to seize farmers’ land to advance a profit-making scheme that serves no public purpose. Carbon pipelines are a corporate scam that will not reduce carbon emissions, and may even cause net emissions to rise. The purported “public need,” therefore, is a fraudulent pretense. As president, I intend to reform the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and other federal agencies to eliminate corruption and shift power and resources from global corporations back to independent farmers. I will shift subsidies and regulations to help independent farmers get off Big Ag’s chemical-farming treadmill. Politico reports: The Robert F. Kennedy Jr. campaign’s pleas for Secret Service protection for the independent presidential candidate are getting a boost in the wake of the shooting at former President Donald Trump’s rally. “We have a pending formal request already lodged with DHS last week,” Kennedy security consultant Gavin de Becker told POLITICO in a text message. Kennedy and his team have been hypersensitive to his safety as a candidate because of the assassinations of his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, and his father, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, who was killed on the campaign trail in 1968. Now, after Trump was shot in broad daylight at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, those concerns are being amplified by Democrats and Republicans alike. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, a Democrat, wrote on X that the federal government should "immediately provide secret service protection" to Kennedy. Rep. Kennedy Jr. warned of the dangers of large food corporations and bemoaned the loss of family farms Tuesday in a room full of supporters and farmers in Freeport. Although he has yet to officially get a spot on the Maine ballot in November — he has until Aug. 1 to turn in 4,000 signatures — campaign staff said they’ve been gathering signatures and organizing volunteers to start knocking on doors this Saturday. The Tuesday event drew more than 200 people, some of whom said they felt a connection to Kennedy unlike other national politicians. “I feel like you are talking to me tonight,” said Holly Arbuckle, a Newcastle farmer. “I just want to thank you from a really emotional place to feel so connected to somebody. WXIA TV reports: The campaign for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. submitted petitions Tuesday to appear on the ballot in Georgia, a top state election official said. Gabriel Sterling, the chief operating officer in the Georgia Secretary of State's Office, posted a picture of the petitions being dropped off on X. Newsmax reports: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has enough signatures to secure a place on Indiana's presidential ballot this November, county election officials said Tuesday. Kennedy, who is running as an independent, needed 36,943 signatures to qualify. He managed to gather 37,000 by Monday morning. "While canvassing for signatures, 99% of the people I encountered wanted to sign the petition to get Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the ballot," said Indiana campaign volunteer Dolores Lane. WYRK reports: The 2024 Presidential Election season is in full swing, and there is tons of activity happening all over the nation. Of course, New York is in the fray as we inch closer to November. With both the Republican and Democratic primaries out of the way, it's time for those candidates to look forward to their party conventions. But it's not smooth sailing for them, at least in New York, because there is now a third candidate who New Yorkers will be able to choose from when November 5, 2024, rolls around. According to rules set forth by New York State election law and the New York State Board of Elections, anyone who meets the qualifications required in the United States Constitution can run for president. They do not need to be part of a political party as long as they obtain a certain number of signatures on nominating petitions. That is precisely what Robert F. Kennedy Jr. did this week, obtaining signatures from more than 100,000 New Yorkers. Back in May 2024, Kennedy turned in more than 70 volumes of signed petitions to qualify for the presidential ballot in November. In total, he had 108,680 valid signatures. Wired reports: Since the presidential debate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign has heavily leaned into X and TikTok as part of its strategy to get the third-party candidate into the national conversation. It’s working. An AARP poll released earlier this week in the swing state of Wisconsin showed Biden lagging behind Trump by six percentage points, with 9 percent of respondents preferring Kennedy.  A poll from the Cook Political Report found that Trump now leads Biden 47 percent to 44 percent percent in the “the most drastic shift in the race all year.” Pundits and some Democrats have called for Biden to leave the race. But for independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign, this could be a breakout moment. While the presidential debate aired on CNN, Kennedy streamed a parallel debate where he answered the same questions. The campaign has since leaned into X, increased its efforts on TikTok, and continued to take any opportunity to get the candidate into the national conversation. And at least some of its efforts appear to be working. Santa Fe New Mexican reports: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be on the ballot in New Mexico, his presidential campaign announced Saturday. His campaign turned in 11,202 signatures about a week ago, more than triple the 3,561, or one-half of 1% of the number of people who voted in the last gubernatorial election, required under state law. On Saturday, his campaign shared a letter from Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver saying he had qualified for the ballot. “We appreciate Secretary Oliver’s efficiency in certifying the Kennedy-Shanahan ticket in New Mexico,” Kennedy campaign senior counsel Paul Rossi said in a statement. “It’s refreshing for a Secretary of State to avoid the partisan interference on display by election officials in Nevada and North Carolina.” Earlier this week, Toulouse Oliver’s office went through the petitions of the various independent candidates seeking to make the November ballot. Joining Kennedy on the presidential ballot alongside the Democratic, Republican and Libertarian Party nominees will be Chase Oliver, who is the nominee of the national Libertarian Party. Fox 31 | 2 Colorado reports: The Libertarian Party of Colorado and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential campaign have partnered to ensure the Independent-affiliated presidential candidate will be on Colorado’s November ballots. The two groups said they intend to “disrupt the entrenched two-party system.” The Libertarian Party of Colorado Board of Directors passed the resolution Tuesday in favor of partnering with the Independent presidential candidate. This means the Kennedy-Shanahan ticket will be on the Colorado state ballot for president and vice president. “Thank you, Libertarian Party of Colorado and Chair Hannah Goodman, for your visionary leadership in defense of freedom,” Kennedy said in a release Wednesday. “Together, we will win the White House and steadfastly protect the Bill of Rights, the First and Second Amendments, and all the foundational liberties they secure. 2 News Nevada reports: The Robert F. Kennedy Jr. campaign submitted around 30,000 signatures in Nevada, which is triple the required number to appear on November's ballot. However, this is not the first time the RFK Jr. campaign has submitted more than enough signatures. In January, the campaign collected over 15,000 signatures. However, in early March, the Secretary of State's office informed them that their ballot petition was invalidated because a staffer had given the campaign inaccurate guidance. "The initial batch of signatures only had Robert F. Kennedy Jr's name on them, and we were told by the state back at the end of last year that was sufficient. And, when we went to hand in 15,000 signatures, they said no, we forgot to tell you it has to have the Vice President on it also, so they rejected all 15,000 signatures," said RFK Jr. Campaign Volunteer Steve Mezak. The campaign filed approximately 25,000 signatures in Clark County and around 6,200 in Washoe County on Wednesday. As an independent candidate, Kennedy is required to submit only 10,095 signatures by Friday, July 5th. The campaign plans to submit several hundred more signatures from surrounding counties, including Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, and others on Friday. Spectrum News reports: According to the New York State Board of Elections, if Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hits the 2% or 130,000 voter threshold in this year's presidential race, "We the People" would be a new, official political party in the state with ballot access for two years. But there are still plenty of hurdles to overcome before that happens, thanks in part to an election law change that went into effect before the 2020 race. Prior to the 2020 election cycle, political parties in New York state would automatically gain a ballot line for the next four years if their candidates received at least 50,000 votes during a gubernatorial election. However, four years ago, New York Public Interest Research Group Executive Director Blair Horner says the state changed the threshold. Now in order to be recognized, a party's candidate must collect at least 2% of the total votes cast for governor, or 130,000 votes — whichever is higher — and the same for presidential elections.   "You have this sort of new sort of system in place which makes it harder to maintain that line and to get on the line, and that's why there's really only four official parties in New York state when there used to be a lot more," said Horner.
