Half a century later, in the year 2023, the torchbearer of the Kennedy legacy, presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. embarked on a poignant journey back to Watts, as testament to his family’s unwavering commitment to uplift and empower communities.

Beyond the prestigious lineage that he carries, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is driven by an ardent desire to amplify the voices and aspirations of marginalized communities, particularly within the Black neighborhood. This commitment is more than mere rhetoric; it’s a genuine dedication to his family’s legacy of advocacy and compassion.

In a recent display of his support for such initiatives, Kennedy also aligned himself with the Los Angeles-based Drew League. This grassroots basketball organization has garnered immense respect for its role in uniting local youths, streetball legends, and even professional basketball stars, all converging in Compton to celebrate the sport they love.
